Electrical Design Engineer

The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical design, knowledge of industrial automation, and an understanding of control systems. PLC programming experience is a plus, as there may be opportunities to assist with in-shop programming.
This position is bound primarily to the Integrated Solutions shop at the Indianapolis location with occasional travel to customer locations during normal business hours. A clean driving record is required. This role comes with a competitive compensation plan and as well as excellent benefits.
Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
· Design electrical schematics and control panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
· Develop wiring diagrams, BOMs, and other documentation to support panel builds and system integration.
· Work closely with panel fabrication team to ensure designs meet project specifications.
· Collaborate with the automation team to integrate control system components.
· Maintain design standards and best practices for electrical drawings.
· Assist in in-shop PLC programming when opportunities arise (not required but preferred).
Requirements for the Electrical Design Engineer:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Automation, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
· Experience in electrical design for industrial automation, control panels, or related systems.
· Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (UL 508A, NEC, etc.).
· Ability to create accurate and detailed electrical schematics.
· Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
· PLC programming experience is a plus, but not required.
· Experience with Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
· Must be willing to travel locally and have a clean driving record.
